March 18 2012

The twins modeled for me: rarely can I get them to do this with their busy schedules. They are always excellent models. Erica always looks to me like she was meant to be living in the Renaissance- a traditional artists dream. Maybe it's just because I love her so much too that I always want to photograph or paint her. She looks like she stepped out of a painting by Boticelli.

March 14 2012

The first tassel necklace that I made- I kept this one for myself. There were still some design issues to tweak. I now am putting these charm tassels on a bronze ring and then attaching the leather.

March 13 2012 - Surrender

I use the angel cards frequently to help me during the week. I love this one, and I think what it meant to me at the time was that it's okay to surrender to new things. Everything has its place and meaning.

What?... You want us to finish?...

I ran fevers with chills, nausea, headaches, earaches, from Sunday till Tuesday night when my fevers finally stopped. I tested + for Influenza A, so missed class on Tuesday. As far as I can tell, no one is close to being finished. So when Victor announced on Thursday that we had one more class period to finish up the Van Eyck paintings, and I heard it through my earbuds, I thought I heard incorrectly. Turns out, I didn't.

And, I think this is why I didn't finish my Van Eyck the last time I took this class. Whoa... there is not enough time to finish with the class periods given.

I feel like we've spent so much time with prep work, and watching demos, and then there was the museum day-- I'd estimate that we've spent maybe half our time, not even that painting.

I haven't even gotten a picture of some of the painting with local color up to date. I'll try to add that this weekend.

I plan to head to school to finish making some jump rings, and will work on my Van Eyck at least one day of the weekend.... Alex is on call so he said I could go when he gets home from work. Looks like I will be a weekend painter....

Fork in the Creative Road

I thought I would try to post whatever pics I had of the jewelry I am making since I mentioned it in the last post.

The morning I took this, I decided to take it apart as I felt it was too long. Lots of pieces that I create, I decide to re-make them. Hmn.... I feel there is a theme here.... and I think that theme is called O.C.D.

Made this piece in one morning, and took it to Chesterfield Arts to donate to their annual fundraiser- felt like a horrible mom for putting my oldest in front of the T.V. for an entire movie. Took the pic while they were in the car, in an effort to 'practice' for etsy. Was so stressed out about the whole thing, and ended up after dropping the piece off at Chesterfield Arts, then taking the kids to CPK and had a glass of wine while they downed cheese pizza, mac-n-cheese, and brownie with ice cream. I STILL have not heard from Chesterfield Arts if the piece auctioned for a decent amount. :/

Took pics for Gale, who is opening the salon/boutique to show her the goods.

Up late at night putting together some 'simple pieces' that didn't take much except a lot of time. These are the sideways crosses and they look very pretty on... I still need to solder them.
